A Word from Sheriff Moore
As your Sheriff, my duties are to protect and serve you, the people of Saline County. We do this by maintaining a very high level of professionalism. Deputies and Correctional Officers receive up-to-date training from the best sources available to assist them in making you as safe as possible.
We take all crimes committed in the county very seriously. Drugs are a threat to all American communities and we put special emphasis on quickly solving drug related crimes committed in the county.
I believe the Sheriff’s Office plays an important role in modern day American communities. Homeland Security, co-operation with state, federal and local law enforcement agencies, to keeping every American safe is a top priority to us.

Saline County Sheriff Alan Moore is a veteran law enforcement officer with more than 30 years of experience. Moore started working with the Saline County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy in 1987. Moore operates the Sheriff’s Office with integrity and pride focused on protecting and servicing the people in Saline County Nebraska.
Sheriff’s Office Personnel
The Saline County Sheriff’s Office employs seventeen deputy sheriffs – two captains, three sergeants, eleven deputies, and one transport deputy. With Sheriff Moore, it makes eighteen certified law enforcement officers at the sheriff’s office. Deputies carry badges and IDs clearly identifying them as law enforcement officers. If you are ever in doubt that someone who presents themselves as a deputy actually is a deputy, please call the sheriff’s office. No deputy will refuse to show their ID and badge if requested.
Training
Deputies handle everything from serving papers and participating in public functions to traffic accidents and crime investigations. Deputies are certified law enforcement professionals meeting the highest standards of training and expertise. Training occurs continuously incorporating new techniques and technology. Deputies from Saline County participate in training events all over the United States.
