Correctional Officer

The Saline County Law Enforcement Center (SCLEC) is currently accepting applications for Correctional Officer. You may access job description and application form on the Employment page. Applications are accepted at any time and will be kept on file for one year to be reviewed at such time as a position becomes available.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 21 years of age, possess a high school diploma or GED as well as a valid Nebraska driver’s license, be of good moral character with no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions and be in good physical condition. Nebraska law Enforcement Certified is not required but uncertified applicants must meet admission requirements for the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center.

Application packets may be obtained either in person at SCLEC, 911 S. Main St., Wilber, Nebraska; by emailing bkalkwarf@sclec-ne.org; or by calling (402) 821-2111 to request that a packet be mailed out. A link to the application is also available on our website. Communications Operator (Dispatcher)

The Saline County Law Enforcement Center (SCLEC) is not currently hiring for a Communications Operator. This position serves as liaison between the public and law enforcement, fire and rescue personnel; monitors various information sources such as telephone, radio, teletype and bank/business/school alarm systems; relays all pertinent information to law enforcement, fire and rescue agencies concerning emergency and non-emergency calls for service.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or GED as well as a valid Nebraska driver’s license. Experience in communications is not required but an individual must be able to pass basic training within the first year of employment.
