Drugs from sources abroad also might not meet the stringent quality and safety regulations of the FDA and might be dangerous for you. While many US pharmacies operate legitimate Internet sites selling drugs via mail-order, these are all regulated by the appropriate government agencies. Buy your Rx drugs from a local reputable pharmacy or a national chain to keep you and your family safe. See the DEA Information on "Internet Pharmacies" for more information.

Meth Labs
Meth labs are both toxic and very flammable. It is not uncommon for meth labs to explode endangering entire blocks and the people who live there. Some signs that a meth lab might be in your community are:
- Lots of traffic at all hours of the day and night.
- Spots of dead vegetation, sometimes reddish patches where chemicals has been dumped.
- Large number of empty medicine bottles or blister packs.
- Large number of used coffee-filters reddish in color.
These signs does not mean there is a meth lab in the area, only that there could be one. If you suspect there is a meth lab in your area, call law enforcement immidiately.
Meth is a devastating drug. It can destroy a person in very little time. To see the effects of Meth on some users please visit Faces of Meth

Prescription Drug Abuse
This type of drug abuse has risen in popularity in recent years. Users think that since it is medicine they are using they are safer compared to when they use illegal narcotics. Nothing could be further from the truth. Many medications are lethal or carry very serious side effects if taken in higher than recommended doses.
Medications commonly abused are pain killers containing opiates (OxyContin, Hydrocodone, Vicodin etc), sleeping aids (Ambien etc), anti-depressants, and sedatives. Many more kinds of medicine are used though. If you suspect abuse of prescription drugs contact law enforcement at once - this is very serious and can lead to death or crippling side-effects. Further down on this page you'll find photos that will help you identify many of the most commonly abused prescription drugs.
